RISO has been focusing on environmental issues for many years and has always designed products to work in close harmony with nature. Realising that we all have a duty
to think about our impact on the planet and need to pay attention to the resources we use and the waste we leave behind, RISO formed an Environmental Protection Department
in 1996 and shortly thereafter established the RISO Environmental Charter and RISO Environmental Protection Principles.

This commitment to the environment is a core value engrained within the RISO culture and is evident in the

RISO earns coveted Energy Star rating

RISO was recently awarded the much acclaimed Energy Star rating!

This coveted accolade is only earned by companies that produce energy efficient products and adhere to practices proven to save money and protect the environment.
RISO printer-duplicators require as little as 3.5 amps of electrical current and use about as much energy as four 100 watt light bulbs when producing copies. In a side-byside
comparison of a RISO product and another Energy Star rated
photocopier, the RISO achieved a 95% energy cost saving over the photocopier.

How is this possible?

RISO's plate-based ink-on-paper printing technology isn't subject to the extreme heat, compensatory cooling and high power consumption required by photocopiers and tonerbased
printers. This reduction in energy consumption
further reduces RISO products' carbon footprint (the amount of carbon dioxide emitted through combustion of fossil fuels, which leads to ozone depletion).
All RISO duplicators use soy-based ink, as opposed to traditional petroleum-based products - and are able to print on recycled paper.Built to last, RISO duplicators are extremely reliable, requiring fewer maintenance calls and the ink cartridges are fully recyclable, thus minimising the amount of waste
going into landfills.

than 200W and a standby power consumption of only around 5W!
